The Rising Stars Studio is a six-week virtual residency program designed to help emerging Batswana visual artists between the ages of 20 and 35 transition from having a portfolio to developing a professional creative practice. Inspired by innovative, adaptive residency models from around the world, the program is fully online, making it accessible to artists across the country, not just those in major cities. The goal is to help participants create a cohesive body of work, explore Botswana's cultural narratives, and gain exposure to regional and global networks.

Throughout the residency, artists engage in a structured curriculum that includes concept development, masterclasses on topics like digital presence and intellectual property, and one-on-one mentorship. The program also features peer group circles and a final virtual exhibition to showcase the work created by the artists. This initiative aims to provide professional tools like artist statements and CVs, while also contributing to the development of Botswana's creative economy by giving artists the skills and visibility needed to succeed in the art world.
